Activities

NSS

The College has two units of NSS, each consisting of 100 volunteers. Each unit functions under a programme officer. The students have to apply on a prescribed form for seeking admission to each unit.Students enrolled as NSS volunteers are required to put in at least 120 hours of social work twice in a week and attend one camp of 10 days duration to become eligible to receive a certificate. The special camp at University level and a National Integration camp are also arranged every year, generally during summer/winter vocation.
Following incentives at the time of PG admissions are given:
1. Participation in International NSS (YEP) 9.0 Marks
2. Participation in R. D. Camp New Delhi

Activities are conducted under the Programme Officer with a Committee headed by Principal as Patron.

Participations/Achievements
• 16 cadets participated in Annual Training Camp held at Nagrota from 7th to 16th of Jun2 2014.
• 10 cadets participated in Combined Annual Training Camp in the month of Jul-2014.
• 4 cadets participated in DG National Games held at New Delhi from 8th to 20th of Oct-2014.
• One student namely Mr. Akshay Kumar participated in Republic Day Parade held at New Delhi.
• 26 cadets participated in Republic Day Parade at District Police Line Rajouri.

Achievements:
• 15 cadets bagged first prize in Tug of War and also awarded “ Best Contingent” at District Level.
• Mr. Akshay got the prize of best R.P (Regiment Police) in annual training camp.
• NCC Cadets brought laurels to the college by taking part in many inter-district competitions.

NCC


  • NCC Achivements

  • To stimulate interest in defense of the Nation and to build up a reservoir of man power for the Armed Forces. The College has two units of NCC, consisting of 100 Male Cadet and 60 Female Cadet.
    Rules and Regulations:
    • Every enrolled NCC cadet has to undergo two parades of two hours each week and is required to attend 40 parades in a year.
    • All cadets shall have to put in 75% attendance in parades so as to become eligible.
    • Enrolled cadets have also to attend one camp.
    • The uniforms are issued by the College and to be returned at the end of the academic session to the officers incharge, failing which the permission will not be accorded to appear in the University Examinations.
    • B and C certificate examinations held annually for cadets in 2nd and 3rd year of NCC training respectively.
    • Misbehavior and misconduct in NCC activities can debar the cadet from appearing in the University Examinations.
    • Enrolled cadets are extended insurance cover against any mishap during the training.

  • Yoga Achievements

  • The College has established a Yoga Centre in Physical Education Block, equipped with all necessary facilities and study material.
