Admissions Rules |

ELEGIBILITY : The admission of students to B.A. Part-I class is open to a student who has passed the Higher Secondary Part-II exam (10+2) of J&K State Board of School Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto. The admission is given strictly on merit basis in accordance with the college intake capacity for different streams/subjects fixed by Higher Education Department/University of Jammu and for candidates belonging to categories as per S.R.O. 126 Dated: 28.06.1994. The percentage will be calculated by adding 5% of the total marks to the actual marks obtain by such candidates.
Further a candidate who has been placed under reappear category in one subject in B. Part I/II examinations shall also be eligible to seek provisional admission to B. Part-II/III class on his/her own risk and responsibility on the clear understanding that he/she pass the reappear examination within the stipulated period/chances prescribed by the University of Jammu, failing which his/her admission shall stand cancelled.
ADMISSION SCHEDULE & PROCEDURE : The admission schedule is announced every year by the University of Jammu/College administration through its admission notice circulated locally/published in newspapers of the state.
Students seeking admission in B. Part-I shall have to apply on a printed format available from the college office along with photograph and requisite documents mentioned in the said format. Each student can fill in format only mentioning three combinations of subjects as a choice in order of preference selected from the list of combinations permitted by the College/University of Jammu. Selection lists shall be displayed as per the scheduled of the University.

Documents Required
|

A student seeking admission should present himself/herself personally along with the parent/guardian to the college and shall present the following documents.

|
In Case of Regular Candidates |
|
- Marks certificates in original of the qualifying examination (along with four attested copies).
- Provisional/character certificates in original from the Head of the Institution last attended.
- Date of Birth Certificate - Secondary School certificate issued by J&k State Board of School Education.
- Three copies of the passport size photographs.
- Category certificate, income certificate from the Competent Authority (only for those who want to apply for scholarship/financial assistance).
- The undertaking in the form an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- dully attested by Notary as mentioned in Annexure-I.

In Case of Private Candidates |
|
The candidates who have passed their qualifying examination as a private candidate shall have to submit the following documents in addition to the above: |
|
- An undertaking in the form an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- dully attested by Notary as mentioned in Annexure-II.
- Provisional certificate from J&K State Board of School Education and a character certificate from a first class magistrate / DySP (Police) of that area in the case of private candidates.

However, the students who have passed their qualifying examination from an institution other than the J&K State Board of School Education shall have to submit the following documents in addition to the above: |
|
- Migration Certificate in original from the University/Board from which the student has passed the qualifying examination.
- Eligibility Certificate from the University of Jammu.
- The undertaking in the form an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- dully attested by Notary as mentioned in Annexure-III.
